Core Values
ENJOY, BELIEVE, ACHIEVE
Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful
Adswood Primary values are embedded in our vision.
'A value is a principle that guides our thinking and our behaviour.'
At Adswood Primary School, every individual is valued for who they are and what they contribute to the school. Values support the personal, social and spiritual development of every pupil throughout the school.
Built on the foundations of Enjoy, Believe, Achieve, Adswood Primary is an inclusive school community where:
- We have a happy, stable and nurturing environment where each individual is valued and listened to.
- We develop independent learners who are motivated and excited to work hard and question the world around them.
- We provide a stimulating and purposeful environment where high expectations result in children achieving their full potential.
- We provide a broad and rich curriculum which enables children to develop skills for life which prepares them for the future world.
- We develop resilient, considerate, proactive and positive pupils who respect themselves and the world around them.
- We work in partnership with the whole community, respond to its voice and value its diversity.
Within our school community we promote our 'Adswood Superpowers' with the pupils. The superpowers (values) are a thread linked to everyday life in our school. Through our inclusive curriculum, pupil work, assessments, restorative meetings and more, the pupils recognise the importance of the values and how they can demostrate them in school and everyday life preparing them for the next stage of education.
These include: Empathy, Resilience, Positive thinking, Communication, Independence, Determination, Focus, Listening skills, Problem Solving, Gratitude, Adaptability, Self Control and Kindness.
Children use the superpowers in all different aspects of school life including the Life Skills Curriculum - The Enjoy Believe, Achieve Awards (EBA Awards) the school offers.
